Kathleen Diane Schams
Kathleen Diane Schams age 74, of Onalaska, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2022 at home. She was born on November 19, 1947 to Orel and Marie Haug. Kathy moved to La Crosse after graduating high school in Moorhead MN where she met her husband of 55 years, Gary Schams. They were married on May 13, 1967.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. Kathy retired from Wells Fargo after 40 years and loved spending time with her grandkids and watching them play sports. She loved her coffee and crossword puzzles, enjoyed knitting, reading a good book, family gatherings and the occasional trip to the casino.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Kim Schams and Mike (Sue) Schams; grandchildren, Kylee and Drake Schams; three sisters, Janice Chrisan, Sandee (Darryl) Winternheimer and Marianne Guist; two brothers, Pete (Kitty) Haug and Tom Haug; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5-8pm at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska.
I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy was a wonderful woman and I will miss her.
