Robert Henry Knight

Robert Henry Knight of Holmen Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at his home after a long illness. He was born March 14, 1945, in Galesville, Wisconsin to Horace and Alvira (Hamilton) Knight. He spent his childhood and youth in Galesville. After graduating from high school in 1963, Bob joined the  United States Marine Corp. He served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner.  He then worked for DMOR, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, with a TDY in Greenland.  He transferred to the Ammo Dump, in Duluth, MN, and retired after a serious auto accident
He married Susan Mashak  on October 16, 1971, in La Crosse County, WI.    To this union one son, Timothy was born. Bob and  Susan were later divorced.  On May 18, 1986, Bob married Charlotte Rugg Gudbaur in Galesville.
Bob is survived by his wife Charlotte, son Timothy, La Crosse,  a sister Marie House, Rochester, MN, nephew Kim and Keith, and stepchildren Marcia  (John) O’Duggan, Lewiston, MN; Stacy (Khalil Mdaghri) Cobro, Bradenton,  FL. Step grandchildren, Jesse, Shae, Graham, Jamie, Leland, Jaden, Maeve, Sorcha, and Fionn and their respective families, and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Alvira, brother Ellsworth.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 14, 2022, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, Wisconsin, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of Service.  Military honors will immediately follow the service.  A light lunch is to be served following the military honors.

    i was good friends with Bobby in high school, spent overnights on Butter Milk alley with Bob and his mom Alvira. 1962&63 Sorry for your loss.
