Jean peacefully passed away at Gundersen Health System surrounded by her family on December 11, 2022. She was born on January 30, 1959 in La Crosse, WI to William and Gwenith (Johnson) Sacia. Jean was raised in Holmen, WI and graduated from Holmen High School in 1977. She lived near Madison, Stoughton, and Janesville for most of her adult life. Jean loved her family and friends, God and Country. She spent many hours enjoying the family cabin in Hatfield, listening to and cheering the Milwaukee Brewers, and feeding deer and hummingbirds. She enjoyed trips to Cancun with her sister Sue and friend Lois. Jean was also very active in her church and involved in Alpha, bible study, nursery, as well as feeding and housing the homeless. She was an active Republican and always voted. Jean was a past Wisconsin Jaycee President, and she met many lifelong friends during her affiliation with that organization. Jean is survived by her father William Sacia of La Crosse; sisters Susan (Robert Weiking) Sacia of La Crosse, and Denise Laxton of Holmen; brother Garry (Cindy) Sacia of Trempealeau; Mother- in-law Shirley Butcher, sister-in-law Carla (Jack Bullard) Morgan of Janesville; stepson Richard Butcher; also survived by nieces and nephews Susan and Jason (Tammy) Montgomery, and Ashley (fiancé Louie Valencia) and Scott Sacia, Brooke (fiancé James Brodzeller) and Bennett (Lynsey) Laxton. Jean was a dear friend of mine. Sweet is a word that describes her best. She loved Jesus with all her heart, and when it’s my time to meet Jesus at heaven’s gate, I pray that Jean will be right behind Him, waiting to show me around. I’ll miss and love you forever, my sweet friend. See you later.❤️

Jean was one of the sweetest – most caring people i have ever met. She was a dear friend of many. We worked together 3 different time (3rd time was the charm) for over 25 years. NOBODY cared more about our agents / customers than Jean. She loved the Lord and loved this country. She was small in stature but had incredibly big heart. Heaven has a new angel.. She will be missed but left a mark that few could. Think BIG my friend ! We will see you again.

My sincere condolences to Bill and the family. I considered the Sacia family as an extension of my family. Bill gave me my first job. I have so many memories of the store and Denise, Bill, Gwen and all. Denise is godparent to my first children. Sue I loved driving your car around! I will always think of Jean with a smile on her face. Time takes all down the path God chooses for us and even though we don’t necessarily see each other face to face, you will always be entwined in the fabric of my life.

Sad to learn Jean is gone, but surely found a better place. She demonstrated that being small in stature is transcended by having a heart of gold and the ability to THINK BIG.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jean during her OnTrack days and always enjoyed my conversations with her. She was kindest, most sincere person and always had a great positive attitude. Jesus called home one of our great ones.

My condolences to the family on Jeans passing. I knew Jean from the “old days” of Jaycees. Blessings to all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jean on the first day of Kindergarten in Holmen and I can remember that like it was yesterday.
She may have been small but was full of spunk and very fun to be around. I visited with Jean at a recent class reunion which was a real treat as I had not seen her in decades.
May Jean’s memory be eternal and may God richly bless those who loved and cared for her.

Jean was part of our family for years. I admired her positive attitude, patience and persistence in all things. Seems like she was too young to leave this earthly existence but at the same time, I can imagine her presence in the hereafter. Our loss is their gain and I hope she gets some well-deserved rest where she is now. Only, knowing Jean, she will probably take on challenges, responsibilities and be making friends already in heaven, (maybe in the nursery!) Godspeed, Jean.

My sincere condolences to the Sacia family. Jean was a good hearted person and I’m glad I knew her. She will be missed. Most of all I loved her laugh!

Delayed greetings to the Jean Elaine (Sacia) Butcher Family, Zelda (Johnson) Ahlborn (cousin to Jean’s mother Gwenith), my sister Lori (Ahlborn) Schmidt and I (who also am not only related to Jean but am also a past Jaycee with Jean) wish to extend our condolences to Jean’s family & close friends & fellow Jaycees. We have fond memories of Jean, her mom Gwenie and dad Bill and sisters & brother while they lived in Holmen and owned the IGA grocery. Should a family member read this, my mother Zelda would be very interested in making contact with Bill as we know that he has relocated to La Crosse and do not have a way to reach out to him. Thank you and our deep sympathies and prayers for the family.

Jean was always a kind, sweet person. We didn’t get together a lot, but she was very welcoming. My prayers are that everyone she touched was affected in a wonderful way that will show in their life. I believe her life was a positive influence.
