Donald H. Schroeder, 89, of Onalaska passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022 at Benedictine Manor. He was born in Edgerton, WI on May 17^th, 1933 to Marvin and Olive (Tilden) Schroeder. He married Janice Sedlmayr on September 3^rd, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage before her passing.

Following Don’s graduation from Edgerton High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving with the Third Marine Division in Japan and Okinawa. After receiving his BS Degree from Wisconsin State College and Institute of Technology at Platteville, he joined Crawford and Company where he worked as an insurance adjuster for thirty-four years. After retiring in 1995, he was a volunteer for the Great River State Bike Trail and for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. He enjoyed his time volunteering at the Fish and Wildlife so much he continued to do so for twenty-two years.

He is survived by his daughter, Brynne Pederson of Brookfield, WI and his son, Tim (Sallie) Schroeder of La Crosse. He is furthered survived by his sisters-in law, Diane Champion and Ramona Sedlmayr, brother-in-law, Steve Sedlmayr and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janice, his parents, his brother Rolland and his step-mother Sally Krueger Schroeder and step-sister Sue Thompson.
