Obituary

Michael “Mike” Lindley

August 6, 2023 | 4 comments

Michael ”Mike” Lindley, born 6/12/1953, passed away unexpectedly on July 27th, 2023.
He was a kind and caring person with a quirky sense of humor. One would know this from his Thirsty Thursday gatherings in the “garage”. He was also a private person and didn’t share much about his younger years , other than the fact he had been in the Army.

He was preceded in death by Val, his wife and soul mate of 40 years. In fact he just celebrated her memorial in June. He struggled with her loss tremendously.
To help fill his time he became a member of the Harry J Olson Senior Center. There he was welcomed with open arms. He found a sense of purpose and made multiple friends! He would be excited to share with his family the experiences he had there.

Mike’s memory will live on in his many friends and family, especially his Stepdaughter Roxanne and her husband Chuck. He had three grandchildren whom he cherished, Thor(Hannah) Kurtz, Kayla(Derek) Whitaker, and Ty(Abbey) Kurtz. He was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren.

Per Mikes request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family asks that any memorials be sent to the Harry J Olson Senior Center in LaCrosse, WI

I met (big) Mike at the Harry J Olson Center earlier this year. He was a very nice man.He brought “sweets” so we all could celebrate his birthday with him. To keep the 3 Mike’s separate, we went with big–tall–&small? R.I.P.Mike

R.i.p. uncle Mike… he was really the only person out my dad’s entire family.. the Saturdays spent in the garage on campus when I was just a little girl hold so much more meaning now. You and Val both will be dearly missed. You two were the true definition of true love. May you two rest forever together love you
