Glenn Paul Gran

Glenn Paul Gran, 80 of Onalaska died suddenly September 08, 2023, at his home from heart complications.Glenn was born October 4, 1942 in Caledonia, Minnesota to Adolph and Myrtle (Enockson) Gran. He graduated from La Crosse Central High School in June of 1960. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany from 1961 to 1964. Glenn was then united in marriage to Elaine McCoy on February 10, 1968. He was employed at Trane Company for 38 years as a machinist and as an inspector.

Glenn enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and restoring his 1964 Ford Galaxie convertible. He received many trophies at car shows. He also enjoyed going to auctions, rummage sales and flea markets.

In his retirement years Glenn spent many hours visiting with friends at Marge’s restaurant and his Trane Company buddies at Tom Sawyer’s. He enjoyed his senior exercise class at the Community Connections center in La Crosse and also spent many afternoons at Riverside Park.

Glenn will be remembered for his good sense of humor. He was proud of his Norwegian Heritage.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years Elaine, son Christopher and daughter-in-law Rani, grandchildren McKenna and Cameron Gran, and daughter-in-law Cindy (Curt) Gran, sister Vera (Lynn) Morris, sister-in-law Jeane Gran, brother-in-law Phillip Nelson and many other relatives and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, son Curt, brothers Lyle (Vernetta) Becker, Merle Becker, Leslie (Irene) Gran, and Arlin Gran. Sisters Eleanor (Cletus) Link, Lola (William) Wermager, Lilian (Al) Coleman, Nephews Dan Gran, David Wermager, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He is also preceded in death by his mother-in-law Phyllis (Parrish) McCoy and father-in-law Donald McCoy

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the Gathering Place, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, a luncheon will be served following the service. Burial with military honors following the luncheon at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse at 2:00 p.m.

    Dan and I had been gone from exercise for over three weeks so just today found out that Glenn died. How sad to hear this. We are so very sorry. I will miss Glenn (with the two N’s) and listening to his frequent quips and funny responses to the daily question.
