Joan Kathleen Johnston
Joan Kathleen Johnston, age 83 of Onalaska, died peacefully Tuesday, December 12, at Serenity House, Tomah, Wis., with her brother and sister-in-law by her side.
Joan retired from Mayo Clinic Health System where she worked for decades. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Patricia Stuhr, and sisters- in-law and brothers-in-law Katheryn and Dennis Bjornstad, and Gary and Gloria Johnston. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Mary Jo Johnston and Judy Johnston, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Johnston; her parents Vernon and Mayme Stuhr; brother Ronald Stuhr who died in infancy; her brother and sister-in-law Doug and Anne Stuhr, and her brothers-in-law William Jr. and Ronald Johnston.
A memorial service, with visitation one hour prior, will be held Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. at North Presbyterian Church, 1327 N Salem Rd La Crosse, WI. Pastor Scott Skogen will officiate.
Rest in Peace, Joan. You will be missed.
My condolences to the family and friends of Joan. Although not real close, we did enjoy some fun times years ago at family get togethers. The line of Bill and Leo is getting smaller. God bless and keep her. She is now together again with Jim and the rest of the family.
Mike and Pat, we were so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. We didn’t know she had been ill. We exchanged Christmas cards for several years. She will again be with the love of her life Jim. God bless her memory and her family. We too remember all the good times we had together.
