David John Christel
David John Christel, 80, of La Crosse passed away December 19, 2023. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin November 18, 1943 to John and Dorothy Christel.
His father John was stationed in England during World War II and was not able to meet his son David, until 3 years later.
David had keen intellect, but suffered emotional problems resulting from injuries as a child.
He loved to spend time at the main branch of the La Crosse Public Library reading newspapers and exploring the non-fiction bookstacks.
David loved trains and collecting old Jeeps that he acquired at Fort McCoy.
He is survived by his siblings Karen, Candy, Steve and Bob. He is also survived by four nieces one nephew and 2 grand nephews and 3 grand nieces.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I knew David years ago when I served him at the warming center. He was a delightful person and he is missed.
