Christopher Mark Stankiewicz

Christopher Mark Stankiewicz, 60, of La Crosse, passed away suddenly on December 2nd, 2023. Chris grew up in Oak Park Illinois with his Mom, Dad, and seven siblings.  He moved to La Crosse, WI in 1992 and was a dedicated employee at Northern Engraving for nearly 32 years.

In his free time, Chris enjoyed spending time outdoors whether he was bow hunting, fishing off the banks of Goose Island or driving around Goose Island looking for deer and other wildlife. Chris enjoyed gathering with his family, whether it was for holidays, birthdays, graduations, or family reunions. Chris loved his daughters dearly and was extremely proud of them. He always loved supporting them through the years by attending their church performances, school choir concerts, show choir performances and sporting events. Chris was proud of his Polish heritage and embraced it by speaking the language and eating and cooking various Polish foods including Czernina, Kielbasa, Pierogi, Paczki, and Kolaczki.

Chris is survived by his girlfriend Ressie Couch, his daughter Cheyenne (Jacob) Helgerson, his stepdaughter Nicole Sjuggerud (Nick Bowman), his sisters Cynthia “Cindy” (Charles) Kreye, Leslie (Ronald) Sobieski, Denise “Dee” (late Albert) Zurawski, and Kimberly “Kim” (Jarad) Mineo, brother Victor (late Viola) Stankiewicz, and sister-in-law Elba Stankiewicz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by his father Anthony “Tony” Stankiewicz Sr., his mother Theresa “Terry” (Bednarz) Stankiewicz, his sister Michaellene “Mickey” (late Edward) Bandas, his brother Anthony “Tony” Stankiewicz Jr. and his aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2023, at 5:30 pm with a visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of service at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska.

    God made us brother and sister but we were friends by choice I am going to miss you brother but I know that in my heart of hearts you are home in God’s mansion with family friends and loved ones you will be missed greatly
