Donald Clarence Martinson
Donald Clarence Martinson, 89, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, at Hillview Health Care Center. Don was born October 4, 1934, in Rusk County, to Rose and Clarence Martinson.
Don graduated from La Crosse Central High School. He was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. After returning to La Crosse, Don met and married the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Hicke, on July 28, 1962.
Don is a life member of the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52. He served with the Honor Guard of Post 52. He loved being involved with the many food functions which included serving the best boiled fish during the Friday Fish Frys.
Don enjoyed bowling and golfing with his son Mike, as well as his friends. He was very proud of the two hole-in-ones at Hillview Golf Course. Don was an avid card player, loved the Packers, and the Brewers. Don was employed by Gateway Transportation as a data processor when he closed those doors he worked as Security for the Company Store.
Don is survived by his son Michael Martinson, his daughters; Ida Christenson and Becca (Steve) Gleason. Grandchildren; Travis Christenson, Amanda Christenson, Raven (Lucas) Wavra, Philip Gleason and Erika (Ben) Kampschnieder. Great Grandchildren; Jaxon and Cage Christenson, Rae Christenson and Mikayla Patton, Brewer Wavra, Emerson, Hunter, and Colt Kampschnieder. His Sister Louise (David) Bina, His Brother; Timothy (Susan) Wyant, a niece Kristine and Nephews Jake, Tom, and Paul.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents Rose and Clarence Martinson, his brother Robert, his wife Margie, and his sons Robert and Patrick.
A special thank you to the staff of Hillview Health Care Center. Especially Kathy and Shauna; they cared for Don as his own family, and we are all forever grateful for this.
So sorry for the loss of Uncle Don. He’s with Aunt Marg now and celebrating life in Heaven.???

Ida, Becca, Mike & family So sorry for your loss. Don was a great guy who lived life to the fullest! He managed ( most days) to tolerate all the neighborhood kids hanging constantly in the yard and in & out of the house! In adult life we always enjoyed talking to him at the Legion & sharing a beer or two? He will be missed! Hugs & prayers to all
