William Joseph Pishaw
William “Bear” Joseph Pishaw, 69, of La Crosse, Wi passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024.
He was born to Vernon and Arbutus Pishaw on July 7, 1954.
Bill loved being outdoors fishing, camping and keeping himself busy with projects. He also loved telling stories of his younger years and when he was a self employed truck driver, traveling all over the country, often taking his grand daughters with him. He enjoyed listening to music and hanging out with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his son, Billy (Jessi Littlejohn) Pishaw; 2 sisters, Sandy (Loren) Oelke and Kathleen Pishaw (Lorrae Swartz); 3 grandchildren, Kailee (Nick), Kristan (Kyle), and Rilan; 3 great grandchildren, Aria, Nikia and Kylah; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Pishaw; mother Arbutus (Love) Pishaw; sister, Ann Thurmond; and dogs, Sugar and Mya.
Sounds like a very special fellow.

My heart is broken. Bear was my best friend and I loved him. Sometimes we drifted in and out of each other’s lives, but we always came back – except for this time. Over the years we’ve confided in each other, told each other our secrets, laughed together, cried together and supported each other through good times and bad. I always thought we’d have more time. Godspeed, Bear. Wait for me.
Bear was a close friend years ago. Our paths went apart, but my heart still hurts to hear we lost him. RIP my old friend.
So sorry to hear of Bills passing. He is a cousin of mine. His mom and my mom were sisters.

Bill on Drums, his Cousin Dave Ritter in Organ, and Steve Zischke on Base, they would practice in the basement at his Mom, and Dad’s. Those were great days to remember. Also climbing the Bluff to Indian Joe’s cave with a six pack.
