James R. Mann
James R. Mann, age 84, died peacefully on August 11, 2024, at Gundersen Health System with his wife by his side. He was born on March 7, 1940, in Brownsville, MN to Roger and Fern Mann. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brownsville. Jim graduated Caledonia High School.
Jim married Eunice Papenfus and together they had 3 sons but later divorced. On July 13, 1991, Jim married the love of his life, Mary Klinski. They then blended their two families together to become one.
Jim was in the United States Army for six years. He worked as a truck driver most of his life. Jim was so proud of being a truck driver and it truly defined his life. Jim received an award for 1 million accident, free miles. Jim and Mary wintered in Texas for many years. They loved their trips across the country in the Class C motorhome.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Mary, three sons: Curt (Stephanie), Ron (Lori), and Randy (Kathy) and Laura (Cliff) Campbell, Rhonda Jahnke, and Ron (Shelly) Klinski. His grandchildren: Colby, Jenna, and Carter (Bailey) Mann and Jason (Kaylen) Stiever, Amanda (Chris) Kohlmeier, Adam Jahnke, Jamie (Jeremy Burt) Klinski, and Carlee (Jake) Reinhart. His great-grandchildren: Myles and Hazel Mann and Madi, Tayler, and Lexi Kohlmeier, Jaxon Burt, Cameron & Kayden Reinhart and then also, Baby Stiever on the way. His siblings: Rob (Deb) Mann and Mary Ann Dwyer and brother and sister in-laws: Jerry Kampschroer, Karen (Tank) Schroeder, Carolyn Kampschroer. And many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law: Romey Dwyer and Tom Kampschroer.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Health System for all the great care and support. A special thank you also to Joe Driscoll for everything you have done for Jim for the last few years. The family appreciates all your help.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. If you would like to honor Jim, memorials may be made in his behalf to the American Heart Association or the LaCrescent Animal Rescue.
I am of cousin of Jim’s and remember all the fun we had as children on the farm. We played lots of softball games. rest in peace Jim

Mary, we’re sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We enjoyed meeting you two and becoming friends on one of our RV trips to Texas. He was a great man and never met a stranger. You will be in our prayers
