Obituary
Patricia M. (Sullivan) Miller
Patricia M. (Sullivan) Miller, 89, of Dakota, Minnesota passed away peacefully Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Patricia Miller, the daughter of William and Bess Sullivan, was born at the home her dad built in Hillsboro on October 30, 1934. As a young woman, Patricia worked as a secretary until she got married to Milferd (Pat) Miller, the son of Otto and Emma Miller, on Jan. 9, 1954, at First Congregational Church in La Crosse. Patricia and Pat made their home in La Crosse, where Patricia became a homemaker to care for their children. The kids fondly remember coming home after school to the smell of fresh baked goods. Patricia enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and gardening. She always had music on. After her kids had grown, she went back to work; first at Rush Products/TRW for 22 years, then to Wal-Mart in Onalaska where she worked for 24 years before needing to quit for health reasons just 2 weeks before her passing. She had a true love for boating, as did her husband, and they enjoyed many adventures boating the Mississippi on their boat, the “Pat A Mae”. Her favorite holiday was the Fourth of July where it was typically spent with her family at the Pettibone dock in La Crosse. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on the river, and teaching her children how to sew.
Patricia is survived by her three sons, Glenn of Holmen, Geary (Betty) of La Crosse and Patrick of La Crosse; two daughters, Tami (Arland) Ekern of Winona, Minn., and Tara (Kevin) Nelson of Rochester, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Molzhan of Onalaska, and 3 nieces and a nephew.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Robert; and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at The Gathering Place in Onalaska. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service to begin at 11:30 a.m.

Aunt Pat was always so kind to me. She loved to hear about what my family was doing and she would fill me in on all her kids. She was so proud of you all.
She will be deeply missed.
Prayers to her family during this rough road.
Very saddened and very surprised to hear this, as she was so strong. My favorite aunt- as she loved the boats. Fair seas & following winds, Aunt Pat
