Robert “Bob” Vincent Boero, aged 95 of Holmen, WI, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife, Maxine, by his side on September 5, 2024, at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse.

Bob was born on January 25, 1929, to Vincent and Dorothy (Fogel) Boero in Allentown, PA. In 1949, he graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA. He entered the Army in 1951 and his military tour brought him to Fort McCoy in
Sparta, Wisconsin.

After leaving the Army he worked as a maintenance technician for 38 years at La Crosse Footwear and retired in 1991. It was there that he met and fell in love with Maxine Crowley, his “cookie girl.” They married on July 1,1966 and were married for 58
years. Bob loved all things trains, planes, and automobiles. He was a model train enthusiast and was actively involved in train shows for many decades. The Oshkosh Air Show was something he looked forward to every year. And he enjoyed long road trips, especially driving back and forth from La Crosse to Allentown, PA to see family. Bob would never turn down a sweet treat. He loved Wilbur bud chocolates, pudding dessert, lemon pie, and ice cream in any form and flavor. He also loved animals. Bob
enjoyed watching the neighborhood bunnies, squirrels, and chipmunks, and he was happiest sitting in his recliner with a cat on his lap.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Maxine, his brother Richard Boero of Allentown, PA, sister-in-law Beverly Kish, and his children Debbie Pfaff, Nancy Boero, Vince Boero, and their families including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Kathy Brick, stepson Ken (Patricia) Crowley, their children Jenny, John, Luke (Katie), Andy (Katie), and his great-grandchildren Colin, Tessa, and Payton, and other nieces, nephews, and extended
family members.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Carol Jean, and his son Rick.

Special thanks to sister-in-law, Beverly Kish for her loving care always, the staff at Hillview Nursing Home, and the doctors and staff at Gundersen Palliative Care.

The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 am on Friday, September 13, 2024, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, WI 54650. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 am – 12:00 pm with military honors at 12:00 pm.
