I met Steve just a couple of years ago as we began the process of building a new home there. As the HOA Chairman, he was very thoughtful and welcoming. My sincere sympathy to his family and friends. We’ve lost a local treasure.

I meet Steve only once, when he had his Europe Bike Trip.

He was much too young to die.

Best wishes to his family from

I had the very fortunate opportunity to meet Steve nearly 12 years ago while going through ELF A&B, Cert 1, and Cert II firefighter training. Steve was our instructor and I know I speak for all of SAFD Station 3 (Original 12) when I say that it was truly a privilege to have Steve as an instructor as well as a friend. He was one of the best and had a passion for teaching and mentoring. Steve will be sincerely missed!! His memory and legacy will be carried into the future every time the pager goes off by those who trained under him and those who called him a friend. Rest in peace, Steve.
