Obituary
Patty Agnes Bond
Patty Agnes Bond, 85, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her home on December 3, 2024.
Born on November 7, 1939, in Canon City, Colorado, Patty was the cherished daughter of Mahlon “Perry” and Emma “Agnes” Earley.
After graduating from High School in 1957, Patty married Joe Bond Sr. on June 9 of the same year in Penrose, Colorado. The couple moved to Rochester, Minnesota, in September 1957, and later settled in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1965. In 1978, Patty and Joe founded Bond Drywall Supply, where Patty managed the office for over 25 years until her retirement. She was proud of the business they built and grateful for the support of the La Crosse community.
Patty was deeply involved in her community, contributing to Citizen Advocacy and the ARC of La Crosse. She was instrumental in organizing the Citizen Advocacy Tea Garden at Irish Fest and cherished the family tradition of working the Rotary Lights on New Year’s Eve. Patty also found joy and companionship in the Natural Arts Garden Club, where she formed lifelong friendships.
Her passion for gardening was well-known, with her garden boasting over 51 different kinds of flowers blooming simultaneously. Above all, Patty cherished her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Sr.; sons Joe Jr. (Tammy) Bond and Brad (Linda) Bond; grandchildren Amanda (Matt) Miller, Lacey Bond, Joe Bond III, Tonya Kneesel, and Lucas Bond; and great-grandchildren Cole and Emma Miller, and Grayson and Violet Kneesel. She is also survived by her niece and nephews, Kathy (Loren) Anderson, Mike Earley, and Don (Dorie) Earley; great-nephews Alex (Erin) Anderson, Zach (Kat) Anderson, Max Earley, Rob Henderson, Steve (Leah) Henderson; great-great nieces and nephews Perry Anderson, Rose and Charles Anderson, and Remi and Huxly Henderson.
Patty was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Cindy Bond; her parents, Perry and Agnes Earley; her brother, Mike Earley; and her in-laws, Orval and Audrey Bond. Patty’s legacy of love, gardening, and community service will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Gundersen In-Home Hospice care team for their support during Patty’s last days.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:30 am at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 am until the time of the service.
