Obituary

Bruce H. Barge

January 16, 2025 | 7 comments

Bruce H. Barge, 75, of Onalaska, WI got his angel wings on January 14, 2025 peacefully with his wife by his side.

Bruce was born in La Crosse, WI to Howard and Carmen Barge on October 11, 1949. He married Pamela M. Barge on August 23, 1997 in Onalaska, WI. Together with his wife, they own Barge Supply and Nutrition. Bruce was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved getting out to fish, hunt deer, pheasants, and ducks. Each year he would bring home a buck on opening day and get enough pheasants for the family Christmas dinner. He always joked that he would make his small Silky dog into the world’s best duck hunter. As a golfer, he was striving for his third hole in one (because 2 wasn’t enough) and telling jokes to whoever was near.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Carmen Barge and his step daughter, Angela Needham Tenniswood.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Barge, step daughter, Stacia Benedict (Adam Benedict) sister, Pamela Barge and step grandchildren, Tyler Tenniswood, Ariella Tenniswood, Ethan Benedict and Quinn Benedict. He is also survived by many good friends who went fishing, golfing, hunting, and shooting with him.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00-4:00 pm Saturday February 1, 2025 at the Waterfront Restaurant in the Banquet Room.

The family of Bruce Barge wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ticku, the Onalaska Police, Ambulance, and Fire Department. We are grateful for all the love and support from family and friends.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family at this time.

Pam, I am saddened by Bruce’s death. Judy and I were fortunate to get to know him through our pheasant trips to South Dakota. Larry always kept us informed of his times with Pam and Bruce. I am thankful to have had him as a friend. Ron

Where did the almost 50 years of my knowing and enjoying Bruce go?
He truly loved his family, including his “pocket retrievers”, and the outdoors, in that order.
    I will miss him forever.
