May 15, 2025 | 1 comment

Diana Mae (Davies) Hadley passed away at age 60 on May 5th, 2025, at Mayo Hospital in La Crosse after a long battle with COPD. Diana was born in Taylors Falls, Wisconsin to Harold Davies Sr. and Janice Kay (Gentzkow) Nehring. She was born on November 15th, 1964. She built her family and life in Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Diana was fun, sweet, and caring. Diana loved watching her grandchildren and she loved her girls’ nights out with music and dancing. She loved playing games and spending time with her cat, Patches. She liked to have sleepover parties with Alaya, which would include scary movies, indoor smores, and makeup time. She could be described as painfully honest and trustworthy. Laurel often referred to her mom as strong, resilient, and powerful in her illness.

Diana is survived by her husband, Arlen Hadley, her brother Harold Davies, sister Julie Tinney, her daughter Laurel Schmidtknecht, and granddaughter Alaya Marnach. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren, grandchildren, an aunt, and many friends.

She is proceeded in death by her mother, father, former husband Lowell Schmidtknecht, cat Cricket, cat Ariel, and grandson Chance Schmidtknecht.

Diana’s family would like to thank the entire hospital staff at Mayo in La Crosse, first responders, and the community.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 1-3 PM at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska WI 54650. Anyone is welcome to stop by.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
