Obituary
Kimberly Kay Schultz
Kimberly Kay Schultz of McGregor, Iowa passed peacefully on the 10th of June 2025, with her part-time lover and full-time pest of 24 years (also known as Shawn Lachman) by her side at Gundersen Health in La Crosse.
Those that knew Kim would describe her as a compassionate woman who wouldn’t hesitate to give you the shirt off her back to stay warm or a meal so you wouldn’t go hungry without asking for anything in return…unless it was the last drumstick from KFC; she would fight you for it. Although she was a woman of short stature, she made up for it in sass and passion for the people around her. This could be witnessed over the two decades she dedicated to working at the Casino Queen where she not only made the place sparkle like a diamond in housekeeping but built unshakable relationships with customers and fellow employees.
As much as Kim loved meeting new people, her love for her family was even greater. Hard to believe there was enough room to love a large family consisting of her partner Shawn Lachman with her two bonus daughters Jessi Lachman (Riley Hughes) and Cheyenne Paull (Tyler Paull), two beautiful grandchildren Colton and McKenzie Paull, two brothers Jamie Schultz (Pam Schultz) and Eric Schultz, as well as 10 nieces and nephews. Her joyful smile, sassy eye rolls, and infectious laughter will be greatly missed. However, we find peace in knowing she will be joining her father (Jim Schultz), mother (Caroline Schultz), and sister (Stacy Kessler) once again.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Kim will be laid to rest at a private family burial held on a later date.
I didn’t really get to say that I was sorry. or say that I love you sis. I know you were always there for me even when you weren’t. (do to no fault of your own). I will miss you sis.
very sorry for your loss.
