“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…”   – John 5:28

Roger Allen Lewis, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will never forget all their wonderful memories with him and will miss him greatly.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Roger. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and his yearly trip to the Oshkosh Airshow. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. Roger also enjoyed family trips, camping, and visiting friends in New York, Maine and Canada. The Lewis home was often filled with laughter from playing Up Down, spoons and many other card games. Roger was known to always have a cup of coffee in his hand and enjoy his nightly Roma pizza! One time he left his pizza’s out on the porch while visiting friends in Canada and ended up chiseling the ice from the door to get to his Roma pizza! (Thats dedication!) Roger was a budding photographer and videographer! Most family trips ended up with him being stopped by either the police or customs because he could not stop taking pictures or videos, some of which were things they did not want him taking pictures or videos of! Roger was a very hard worker and loved the work he did. Many attics and basements he has seen to install or fix telephones but he never seemed to complain about it no matter how interesting some locations could be. Roger also had a strong faith in his heavenly father, Jehovah. He enjoyed studying and learning more about his creator and friend.

In his later years, Roger was determined to fight to the end with his health battles. He was seen taking his daily walks come rain or shine. He looked forward to his weekly outing with his daughter, Amanda, to wherever he wanted to go that day. Most of the time it involved getting Dunkin Doughnuts breakfast then a trip to Walmart. He also looked forward to his visits from his daughter Naomi, who he was so proud of. She would bring him food from their catering business that he just loved, especially the meatloaf!

Roger also made a new friend along the way, Bob, he is a volunteer from Mayo Hospice that came to sit and visit with him. At first, Roger was not sure he wanted someone to come, but from the very first visit they were the best of buds! They would sit and talk for hours about many topics and would play cribbage. Roger and his family are so grateful to the Mayo Hospice team who has cared for him so wonderfully. Also, to the Quality Comfort Care team that took such great care of him as well.

Roger completed his degree in Telecommunications at Minnesota State Community & Technical College. He went on to obtain his associate’s degree in Telecommunications from CIE. He enjoyed his time as an I & M Technician with Centurytel for 29 years. Roger could not stay retired for long, he then went to work at Ace Telecommunications for over 10 years. When he got bored again, he then started driving parts for Auto Value for the remainder of his career path.

“If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands.”    – Job 14:14,15.

We cannot wait to welcome you back dad and feel your embrace again. We love you and will miss you until we can see you again.

“For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.”    -Romans 6:23

I will miss this guy! Knowing you both since I was 7 years old I can say, he was never without a smile! Or a thermos of coffee! I looked forward to hunting season as I knew he’d be up & I couldn’t wait to hear his stories. Roger was the most genuine person.
