Obituary
Kevin Michael McCoy
Jesus carried Kevin Michael McCoy to heaven on Sunday, August 24, 2025, after a short, courageous, and heartbreaking battle with cancer. Kevin was surrounded by lots of love, with his loving wife and family by his side.
Kevin was born in La Crosse on July 14, 1961, to Robert and Beverly McCoy and lived here his entire life. He worked for the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at the time of his passing. Kevin was so proud of his sons, and no father could have loved his children more. The sporting events when they were young, and up to when they became adults, brought unforgettable memories of joy, jokes, and laughter. Kevin shared his joy of golf, hunting, and fishing with his sons. He was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewers fan, and loved watching games with friends and family. Kevin had a great sense of humor, and was also very quick-witted, coming up with things to say on the spot. He was known for remembering jokes, and sharing them with family, friends, and anyone else listening.
Kevins big blue eyes sparkled, as he sang a duet with Nikki, the 5th floor nurse, of the song “Hush Little Baby”. It was heartwarming, and funny, as they had to stop singing, because they didn’t know the last part of the song. Kevin loved seeing and spending time with his 9 grandchildren, and the child in him came out when he was with them, playing or whatever. Watching football, baseball, basketball, and golf were some of his favorite pastimes, as was going on Brewer bus trips, and trips to Laughlin with friends. Kevin will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his wife Jeannie, sons Trevor (Jenny), Tyler (Amanda), and stepchildren Michelle (Chad) and Brandon (Ashlee). Kevin is further survived by his siblings Roxanne (Tom), Cindy (John), Laurie, and Steven (Stephanie), his 9 grandchildren Reid, Madden, Easton, Memphis, Blake, Kyler, Oliver, Ryker, and Axel. He had many nieces and nephews, just a few are Nathan (Sophia), Joshua, Tisha, Karsten (Nikki), Kylie (Steven), Emily, Sheridan, Shealyn and Shaw. We all loved him dearly.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beverly, and his sister Susie.
