Obituary

Michael “Mike” Donald Fives

November 4, 2025 | 3 comments

Michael “Mike” Donald Fives, age 63, of West Salem, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and made West Salem his home. Known for his quick wit, kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need, he brought warmth and laughter to every room he entered. He deeply loved his family, who were the center of his world.

Mike had a long and dedicated career with Sears, recently celebrating 45 years of service. He was loved by his customers and well respected by his colleagues.

He had a special way with both kids and animals — they were naturally drawn to his gentle spirit and big-hearted nature. Those who knew him will remember his humor, generosity, and the way he made everyone feel welcome.

Mike is survived by his mother, Barbara Olson; his fiancé, Debra Walsh; his children, Amber (Derrik) Coon, Rebecca (Travis) Webb, and Adam Fives; his daughter-in-love Jennifer (Daniel) Anderson and son-in-love Justin (Kimberly) Walsh; and his beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Joseph, Lucas, Grace, Declan, and Jace.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no formal service is planned at this time. The family may hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor his memory.

He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.

My heart goes out to you Deb, Amber, Becky, Adam and your entire family. I knew Mike many years ago as a Sears coworker, and much longer as a neighbor. He was a wonderful man with a very kind spirit and great smile, and was a dedicated expert in his work. He will be greatly missed! I hope your loved ones can find comfort in all the warm memories.
