Edward E. Lusk
Age 85/West Salem, Wisconsin
Edward E. Lusk of West Salem, Wisconsin passed away November 12th, 2025 surround by his caring family.
Born and raised on St. Joe’s Ridge, Ed dedicated his entire life to farming and the agricultural community. He served on numerous local and county agricultural committees. Ed was a 4-H leader teaching tractor safety, active member of both the Holstein Breeders Association and the Golden Guernsey Board. He also represented Pioneer Seeds as a seed salesman for many years. His success as a farmer was evident in all the accolades he received.
After retiring from farming, Ed didn’t sit idlely around, as that wasn’t in his nature. He continued his strong work ethic and love of his community by working at the La Crosse Country Club as a grounds keeper, then later as a delivery driver for John Deere of West Salem. Besides farming, Ed other biggest devotion was the 30 plus years of custodial service he gave to the Presbyterian Church of West Salem. He was known to wear many hats for the church and he was relied on heavily. Ed was instrumental in establishing and working the Community dinners, set up for the monthly Red Cross blood drives and the twice a year church rummage sales. Ed’s commitment to service and willingness to lend a helping hand- or offer some classic “Ed” advice- were hallmarks of his generous spirit.
Ed and Linda loved to travel. Together, they enjoyed trips with family and friends to the beautiful places of Hawaii, Alaska, Branson, Yellowstone, Blackhills and many winters in Florida to escape the cold.
In retirement, Ed discovered a passion for golfing. His Thursday golf outings and lunches with his close buddies were the highlight of his week. He often joked that by the time lunch ended, they had solved all the world’s problems.
With an incredible green thumb, Ed loved nurturing beautiful flowers at home and for the church. One of his proudest moments was when his Christmas cactus bloomed! Oh the pictures he took of that cactus. Though he often said his African Violets were a challenge, he took pride in every plant he cared for.
Cooking, grilling, and canning pickles were a favorite of his. Always eager to try new recipes and share his verdicts with family and friends. Ed’s humor, kindness and friendship touch countless lives. His service to others was extraordinary. Ed’s presence in the community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed is survived by his sons Mike and Brian (Camille); Grandchildren, Laura (Bethany), Michelle (Sia), Kelly and Heath. Step Grandchildren, Regan (Tim) Koonce, Alex (Samantha) Koonce and Zeke (Morgan) Koonce. 8 Step Great Grandchildren, Sister Julie (Darrell) Wise, brother in law Ken Hauser, sister in law Susan Anderson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
