Judith “Judy” Ann Pralle

January 8, 2026 | 0 comments

Judith (Judy) Ann Pralle, 75, of Onalaska, WI, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Mayo Healthcare in La Crosse, WI.

Judy was born on March 6, 1950, to Raymond and Marcella (Carlson) Dorn. The oldest of three daughters, Judy is survived by her two sisters, Joyce (Mark) Rusert and Janet Miller. They spent their childhood on the family farm in Bethany, MN. Judy graduated from Lewiston High School in 1968 and later had a 32-year career working for Lutheran Girl Pioneers in La Crosse, WI, before retiring in 2016 as Executive Director.

Judy married Jerry C. Hansen on June 20, 1970, and they shared 36 years of marriage until Jerry lost his battle with cancer in 2006. Together, they raised two children, Jerod Hansen and Jennifer (Darrin) Brand, building a Christian home filled with cherished family traditions. After Jerry’s passing, Judy was blessed to find happiness with David Pralle, whom she married in 2009. Their time together was filled with love until David’s death in 2023 due to complications from dementia.

Beyond being a devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy was being a grandmother. She adored her six grandchildren- Hunter, Summer (Edward Holmes), and Briar Volkman; Madelyn, Jeron, and Jaxon Hansen- and took immense pride in each of them. She was delighted by the recent news that her family was growing, with her first great-grandchild on the way.

Judy never turned down an opportunity to travel the world or enjoy the magic of a Broadway show. She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, like sitting down with a good book, a cup of coffee, and her three kitties by her side. She treasured time spent with her card club, where laughter and friendship were shared for over 50 years. Tending to her yard brought her peace, and she always made sure the bird feeders were full.

Throughout the earthly trials of life, Judy remained deeply rooted in her faith. With resilience and grace, she faced every challenge with quiet strength and a kind spirit. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Onalaska, WI, where she served the congregation in various capacities. Judy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1201 Main Street, Onalaska, WI 54650. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
