Obituary
“Patty” Patrcia Mosher
Patricia “Patty” Copus passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous six-and-a-half-year battle with Stage IV lung cancer. Throughout her illness, Patty faced each day with remarkable strength, grace, and gratitude, cherishing every moment she was given.
Patty was a compassionate and generous woman whose greatest joy came from helping others. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone, always giving people the benefit of the doubt and treating everyone with kindness and respect. At the same time, she was honest, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind with love and sincerity.
A devoted animal lover, Patty opened her heart and home to countless stray cats throughout her life and lovingly cared for every dog she owned. Her compassion extended not only to animals but to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Above all else, Patty’s greatest pride and purpose in life was her son, Billy Copus. Being the best mother she could be was her highest priority, and she always placed his needs before her own. She was a devoted mother whose unconditional love never wavered.
One of Patty’s greatest joys was spending Sundays surrounded by family at Billy’s home. Those gatherings became treasured traditions filled with laughter, love, and precious memories. She especially cherished the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, McKenzie, Luxanne, and William Copus, and was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother. Patty often expressed how proud she was of the loving family they had created together and how deeply she loved each and every one of them.
Patty remained a fighter until the very end. She held on long enough to say goodbye to her brother, sisters, and many of her nieces and nephews, giving them one last opportunity to share their love with her. She passed away peacefully with her son, Billy, holding her hand, surrounded by love.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hartung and Marlys Johnson; her brothers, Baby Hartung and Jerry Hartung; one niece and one nephew; and her husbands, Bill Copus and Jack Igelberg.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Mike Mosher; her devoted son, Billy Copus; her cherished grandchildren, McKenzie, Luxanne, and William Copus; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind Billy’s in-laws, Aubree, Lindsey, and Allison Miller.
She is further survived by her brothers, Jack Hartung, Chuck (Sharon) Hartung, Bill (Rieta) Hartung, and Tom (Linda) Hartung; her sisters, Mary (Ted) Roerkel, Sandy (Larry) Berger, and Sue (Rick) Ziesler; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Patty’s kindness, strength, unwavering love, and generous spirit will never be forgotten. Her family will miss her every day, but especially on Sundays, when her smile, laughter, and loving presence will be felt most deeply. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her forever.
A Celebration of Life honoring Patty will be announced at a later date.
The family welcomes memorial donations to assist with final expenses and to help honor and celebrate Patty’s life. Contributions may be made through information that will be provided by the family.
