Dale Wendell Lawrence, 76, of La Crosse, passed away at home on Friday, June 26, 2026. Dale was born on September 24, 1949, to Wendell and Agnes (Weis) Lawrence in La Crosse.

Dale worked various places when he was younger, Warner and Swasey, Vern Dale and bartending at Sokoliks. He then worked at Trane Co. for 31 years, retiring at 55 as a machinist.

Dale enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing and traveling, having been on several cruises and bus trips. His absolute favorite thing in recent years was to watch the neighbors and family working on the farm and in the valley. He had to supervise to earn his beer!

Dale was married to Nancy Wells in 1967, together they had 2 children, Tracy and Scott. They later divorced. He then met Lori Peters while tending bar at Sokoliks. They married on April 14, 1984.

Dale’s brother, Dennis (Karen) and his children, Dennis (Karla) and daughter, Pennie and their families. His niece, Brenda (Steve) Wehrs, nephews, Mark (Becky) Hembd and Michael (Michelle) Hembd and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Diane, his brother-in-law, Ralph Hembd, nephew, Matthew Hembd, and grandnephew, Brandon Lawrence, in laws, Rollie and Judy Peters, and sister-in-law, Linda Peters.

I would like to thank the Emplify by Gundersen Hospice Team and the Hillview Health Care who cared for him with 6 admissions over the years, but most of all the unwavering support from my family, friends, neighbors and co-workers past and present – Lori
