Obituary

Coleen Oliver

June 30, 2026 | 5 comments

Coleen Oliver, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Coleen was the beloved wife of Jeff Oliver and the devoted mother of Alicia Oliver (Matt Ames), Eric Oliver (Amy), and Chelsea Klaseus (Dave). She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Mitchell Anderson and Dayton Anderson (Julie); her sister, Jocelyn Johnson (Randy); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Ray Anderson; her brother, Ryan Anderson; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Anderson.

Coleen spent many years working in clerical services. She was loyal, dependable, and deeply private. If someone entrusted her with a secret, it stayed with her forever. Her family always knew they could count on her, whether they needed comfort after a difficult day, someone to celebrate life’s joys, or simply a listening ear. She was strict when she needed to be, but every lesson came from a place of love.

Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured every moment with her family and loved creating memories with her grandchildren. Whether it was taking the kids to the park, rollerblading, biking, spending a day on the boat, or simply being together, she believed beautiful days were meant to be enjoyed and never wasted.

She was a steady presence in the lives of those she loved. Her family always knew they could go home and she would be there. She loved watching her favorite TV shows, and her homemade strawberry jam and apple pie became family favorites. She also cherished family trips north to Callahan, where many of her happiest memories were made.

After an eight-year battle with dementia with parkinsonism, Coleen passed away peacefully. Although her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing her love, strength, loyalty, and quiet faith will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

A funeral service will be held on July 10 at 11:00 a.m. by Msgr. Steve Kachel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

I was lucky enough to grow up down the street from the Oliver’s. Coleen was always a warm, welcoming person. I have many, many fond memories playing in the yard ,eating cookies in the kitchen and playing on Chelsea’s room. Coleen was always happy to see us and truly kind, loving and caring. I am so sorry for your profound loss. I am praying for your family.

So sorry for the passing of Coleen. She was more like a sister to me than a sister in law.
We did so much together. She will truly be missed. The gals from UWL were so good to her, taking care of her needs this past year. You were very much appreciated. Thank you also to hospice for her care.
Coleen you are now at peace. Forever missed and loved.
