Robert H. Beyer, 77, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Emplify Health Center, surrounded by family members. He was born on March 9, 1949, in La Crosse WI to Harvey G. Beyer and

Evelyn M. (Marshall) Beyer. “Bob” was the oldest of twin boys. Bob graduated from Onalaska High School in 1967. He followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Navy. He proudly served his country overseas during the Vietnam War. Later, he became a member of the American Legion. Bob maintained his patriotism all of his life.

Bob worked at Home Depot in Onalaska and liked assisting customers. People appreciated his help and enjoyed his sense of humor. Bob could make people laugh and brighten their day.

His earlier interests included: deer hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and yardwork. He was an avid Packer fan and wore various pieces of Packer clothing to prove it. Small things made him happy, like a big bowl of ice cream, dogs, and visiting with his children.

Bob loved his family and was proud of his children. He is survived by daughters: Heather Gomes (Rob), and Cathy Beyer, his son: David Beyer, siblings: twin brother Richard (Judy) Beyer, sisters Donna Bentzen, and Patty (Paul) Houser. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by: both parents, his sister, Debra Bugbee, brother-in-law, Jerry Bugbee, brother-in-law, Dennis Bentzen, and his beloved son, Michael Beyer.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, with military honors. A celebration of life will be held at the Holmen American Legion, Friday, July 10, 2026 from 1:00-3:00pm.

The family would like to thank the Care Teams at Mulder Health Care, in West Salem, Tomah Nursing and Rehab Center, and Gundersen/Emplify in La Crosse WI. The teams all cared for Bob with kindness and compassion, and we are grateful.

Any donations in Bob’s name may go to the Onalaska or Holmen American Legions or The La Crosse County Humane Society.
