On July 3, 2026, the world lost a truly special soul when Amber Nicole Blomquist passed away at the age of 37. Born on September 18, 1988, Amber’s life was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She graduated from West Salem High School in 2007. In 2018, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Purdue University, where she majored in Business Administration and Marketing. With that drive, she left her mark wherever she went.

Amber was not just a name; she was a feeling. She was the person who made others feel welcome, understood, and loved. She had a heart bigger than words could describe and a way of caring for others that came naturally. Amber loved deeply, felt deeply, and gave pieces of herself freely to the people and things that mattered most.

To know Amber was to know someone who left an imprint on your heart. She had a warmth that drew people in and a spirit that made people feel less alone. She was the kind of person whose love could be felt long after a conversation ended, and whose kindness stayed with you long after she walked away.

Although her time on this earth was far too short, Amber’s life was filled with moments that mattered, and connections that will last forever. The love she shared lives on through the people who carry her memory in their hearts.

Amber is survived by her beloved son, Collin Hodgins; her Lovie and best friend, Alex Keller; her father, Todd Blomquist, and her stepmom Carrie Blomquist; her sister, Diane Smith Oliver and husband Brian Oliver; her brothers, Wayne Smith and Josh Smith; Tami Califff (mom) her sister-in-law, Jessie Johnson; and her niece, Hannah. Hannah’s bond with Amber was more than family. Together they built a lifetime of friendship and laughter. Hannah was her rock, and the bond they shared could never be replaced.

Amber was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maureen Frances Blomquist, who passed away in April of this year. Though their losses came far too close together, we find comfort in believing they are together again. She meant the world to Amber and made her the amazing woman she was.

She also leaves behind her circle of girls who became family, along with many other loved ones and a community that will miss her every day while celebrating the incredible person she was.  What a blessing it is to have someone love you as much as you loved them.

Some people leave footprints in the sand that disappear with time. Others leave footprints on our hearts that remain forever. Amber was one of those people.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on September 19, 2026, at the Struck-Klandrud American Legion post 336, 731 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI 54650.
