John William Lecher, 58, passed away on July 31, 2026, after a battle with cancer. He was born August 7, 1967 in La Crosse, WI to Bernard and Carol (Henke) Lecher. He married Sara Shudy on September 27, 2002 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Born and raised in La Crosse, John enjoyed anything outdoors, including fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. He was also a fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks as well as the Badgers. He also spent a lot of time at concerts over the years. He recently enjoyed new outdoor and work opportunities in Iron River, MI after relocating in 2019.

John is survived by his wife Sara, his children Kimberly (Noah) James of San Antonio, TX; Samantha Henderson of La Crescent, MN; Emma-Ann, and Charles Lecher of Iron River, MI, his sister Michele (Brian) Kuesel, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Lecher, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his brother Eric, as well as his mother-in-law.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 10 from 2:00 pm until 5:00pm in the Gathering Place at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska, WI.
