Mitchell “Mitch” Richard Berg
Mitchell Richard Berg, 20 of Mindoro passed away unexpectedly August 30, 2026 in Mindoro. He was born into this world March 29, 2006 to Tony and Becky (Gilchrist) Berg in La Crosse, WI.
He was a 2024 graduate of the Melrose-Mindoro High School where he was a member of the football team, Wrestling, Trap Club, FFA, and HSRA (#2WI). He also volunteered a lot of time helping coach youth football and wrestling. There wasn’t much Mitchell didn’t take part of! But above else he was everyone’s friend and helping hand.
He was a 2025 graduate of Western Technical College HVAC program. He was also a member of the College Trap Team. He was set to start his plumbing apprentice this fall wanting to follow in the footsteps of his dad and big brother.
Mitchell is survived by his Mom and Dad Becky and Tony Berg of Mindoro, Brother Marcus Berg of Mindoro, Grandparents Richard and Tammy Hutschenreuter of Mindoro, Grandma Cecelia Delaney of Tomah. Aunts and Uncles Lisa and Matt Paulson of Mindoro, Heather and Michael Young of Mindoro, and Andy and Christine Gilchrist of Sauk City. Cousins Alanah Paulson, Emily and Jonathan Young, and Emma and Ethan Gilchrist. He is also survived by his girlfriend Ayla Reuter of Mindoro and his side kick Jolene “Monkey Butt Punkie Pie”.
Mitchell was proceeded in death by his grandfather Leonard Gilchrist “Grandpa Cheese” and both sets of Great Grandparents.
At the time of his death, he was employed at Niebuhr Plumbing and Heating working alongside his dad and brother and many great co-workers. He was also past employed by Arenson Automotive in Mindoro working alongside his Uncle Mike doing and learning all his Mitchie and Mike shenanigans.
Though his untimely passing has brought so much pain and heartbreak to many, the Legend will live on forever through everyone he has touched! Mitchie Richie now “Go Give Heaven Some Hell”
We want to thank the Farmington Fire and First Responders for the care and compassion and everything you did that night. We couldn’t have asked for a better team! We want to thank family and friends for being there with love and support in our greatest need. And a big thank you to the Mindoro Community you have gone above and beyond the call of duty! It warms our hearts knowing that every single one of you have been there in some way. We are so proud of our community where everyone is family!
Celebration of Life for Mitch will be held on September 20, 2026 at the Mindoro Lion’s Shelter N8252 Church Street, Mindoro, WI 54644. Visitation will be 12pm to 3pm with a short service and light lunch to follow. Please come in your Mitch attire which with him could be just about anything. Your presence is enough. Until we meet again my baby boy ”Ma loves you!” Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
