Roger W. Barenthin
Roger W. Barenthin age 76 of Galesville passed away Sept. 8, 2026, at his home in
Galesville.
Roger was born Dec. 11, 1949, to Nona (Fillner) and Howard Barenthin. Growing up he worked at Barenthin Oil and was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. After graduating in 1968 he went on to proudly serve his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service metal as a SP4 in the 101 Airborne.
He is survived by his mother Nona, siblings Peggy and William, brother-in-law Tom LaRue.
He was preceded in death by his father Howard and sisters Janet and Barbara, brother-in-law Mark Pyron.
Special Thanks to the people of Galesville, especially his neighbors on Marinuka Drive, Randy’s Market, Common Market and the wonderful staff at Bluff View Bank for always keeping an eye out for Roger and his needs. Special thanks to Randy Larson and Cindy Tracey for being there for his medical and daily living needs lately.

I am so sorry to hear that Roger passed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Roger was a big part of the class of 68, you will be remembered.
