Richard Siegle

Richard Siegle, 90, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2015 at Bethany Riverside Care Center in La Crosse. He was born on February 22, 1925 to William and Dorothy Siegle in Davenport, IA.  He married Mary L Dixson of La Crosse on May 28, 1949.  He joined the Navy after high school, giving 7 years combined service during WWII and the Korean War.  He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and VFW.

Dick and Mary were avid boaters and campers for many years.  In the mid 50’s, Dick and Mary, along with their 2 children, Steve and Judy, moved to Arcadia where they owned and operated Riverview Lanes for over 10 years.  In 1969, they moved back to La Crosse, and Dick began his many years of “selling booze” for Frank Liquor.  He subsequently retired from there.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 66 years; children, Steven of St Augustine FL, Judith (David) Smith of Holmen, WI; grand children, Max Siegle of St Augustine FL, Todd (Cynara) Pierzina and their children Jackson, Ellie, Cole, Annie of Crystal Lake IL; Nicole (Randy) Kalscheuer and their children Maddie, Grace, Cooper of Middleton WI; sister, Dorothy (Ralph) Brodd of Henderson NV; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sally Keeling; niece, Nancy Keeling; and nephew, Jason Keeling.

Dick’s family will be eternally grateful for the loving and compassionate care he received the last few years at Bethany Riverside Care Center.

According to his wishes there will be no service or visitation.

A private family burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.
