Margaret Elizabeth Guenther

Margaret Elizabeth Guenther, 91, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Onalaska Care Center. She was born in Winona, MN on July 30, 1924, to Bert and Vera (Davidson) Beyerstedt. She married Frank C. Guenther on May 9, 1946 and was blessed with 58 years of enduring love, companionship, and humor. Together they raised their family in Onalaska, WI. Margaret served as parish secretary/accountant for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska for several years until her retirement in January 1989.

Margaret was loved dearly by her children and grandchildren. In her retirement she continued to preciously devote her time and love to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her generosity of love and unending support will be fondly remembered and cherished forever by her family. She touched the lives of many, both personally and professionally, and by her sweet nature and her passionate spirit to give of herself, she will no doubt be missed by many.

She is survived by her two sons, Gregory (Mary) Guenther of Fond du Lac, WI, James (Mary Cody) Guenther of Onalaska, her daughter, Paula (Thomas) Speropulos of Onalaska; two grandchildren, Andrew (Emily) Speropulos of Onalaska, and Megan Speropulos of Madison, WI; sister-in-law’s Gladys Guenther and Mary Jo Beyerstedt both of Winona, MN and several special nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; her beloved daughter Betsey; her infant granddaughter, Angela Speropulos; her parents, Bert and Vera Beyerstedt; her brother, Bert Beyerstedt; and her brother-in-law, Emil Guenther. May she celebrate at Heaven’s door with all those that have gone before her in the light of Jesus Christ.

In celebration of her life, services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Coulee Region Cremation in Onalaska, WI. Deacon Frank from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will officiate, and burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona, MN. Friends may join the family at 10:00 a.m. to honor her life. Memorials may be given to the Father John Rossiter Memorial Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family with arrangements.

    My deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your precious mother. Aunt Marge was very special to me and will most certainly be missed.
