“Laurie” Dolores Irene Wanek
“Laurie” Dolores Irene Wanek, 95, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2015, at Bethany Riverside Healthcare Center in La Crosse. She was born on January 17, 1920 to Lawrence and Catherine Marlett. She married Donald Wanek on April 15, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI.
Laurie worked her entire career as a nurse in Milwaukee, WI. She loved traveling, crafts, and music. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Laurie is survived by her sons, Ken (Gail) Wanek, Jim (Margie) Wanek; sister, Anna Mae Clausen; sister in law, Lois Stemper; grandchildren, Dan, Katie, Jason, Allison; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; brother, George Marlett; sister, Mildred Snyder; and brother in law, Don Clausen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Riverside Healthcare Center for all of their compassionate care.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
