My sincere sympathy to the whole Hilt family on the passing of your dad, Harold. My dad, Frank Filkowski, would stop over at the garage, in downtown Galesville, on Saturdays or on summer days, when my dad was working 2nd or night shift at NSP, on French Island…I think dad just went over to shoot the breeze because he left me and my older sister, Sharon in the car parked across the street by Longwell’s. We made good use of our time by running to Longwell’s or Rexall Drug to purchase those candy cigarettes, which we lighted from the lighter and pretended to smoke, while behind the wheel of the Chevy! Those cigarettes smelled and tasted like toasted marshmallows! I do remember your dad’s father, Avery and so loved your grandparents home on the shore of Lake Marinuka! I know your dad is resting in peace and God’s perpetual light will continue to shine down on him…you all were truly blessed to be connected to Harold. I hope your memories of your dad are full of love, kindness and pride.
PS – Steve, do you remember me from our curling days in the late 70’s Rusti
