Harry Michael Korish
Harry Michael Korish, 62, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in his home with his family by his side. He was born on August 28, 1953 to Erwin and Janice Korish. He married Linda Daffinson on June 1, 1974. They later divorced. On March 3, 2005 he married Stephanie Finck.
Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed being involved with racing with his son and nephew at the La Crosse Speedway and other locations. Harry was an avid sports fan and liked watching the Packers, Badgers, and racing. He worked for 38 years at Pepsi of La Crosse where he retired on April 29, 2016. Most of all Harry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he adored.
Harry is survived by his wife, Stephanie; children, Jennifer (Timothy) Staude, Lucas (Nicole) Korish, Trevor (Cassie) Olson, Jesse (Kati) Olson, Cody Olson, Tanner Finck; Grandchildren, Taylor, and Mason Staude; Hailey, Hannah, and Heidi Korish; Todd, Tawnee, Liam, and Abby Olson; step mother, Carla Korish; father in law, Elmer (Carol) Finck; siblings, Erwin Pat (Bonnie) Korish, Anita (John) Mason, Richard (Janice) Korish, Thomas (Patty) Korish, Steven (Debbie) Sandau, Susan (Dennis) Meyer, Kenneth (Rose) Korish, John (Stephanie) Korish; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grand parents; and brothers, Timothy and Richard Sandau.
The family would like to thank everyone who attended Harry’s benefit at Pettibone Resort in November 2015. The family would also like to thank the staff at Gundersen Health System, Gundersen Health System Hospice, and especially Dr. Kwong and Dr. Conway for their care.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, June 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St. La Crosse. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, and Friday, June 10 from 2:00pm until the time of the service at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Erik Freig will officiate. A celebration of life will take place following the service from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Pettibone Resort and Campground on Friday, June 10.
