Obituary
Patty Stetzer
Patty Stetzer, 54, of Holmen, a beautiful woman inside and out, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017 at Gundersen Health System after a short battle with leukemia.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1962 in Cudahy, Wis., to Walter and Bernadette Brodzik. She married Randy Stetzer on Sept. 15, 2001 in La Crosse.
Patty was passionate about her family and faith. She found joy in hiking, camping, biking,
kayaking and especially flower gardening. She loved to travel and recently enjoyed trips to
Costa Rica, Hawaii and Arizona with Randy, her best friend and love of her life. Patty
was one of the fortunate people who really loved her life and truly knew how blessed she was
in her marriage, family, friends and work. She had a special gift for quilting which she
generously shared by making many cherished gifts as well as making and donating
beautiful quilts to children of the Ronald McDonald House. She was a faithful, active
volunteer in the life of her beloved St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Patty enjoyed the card game “hand, elbow, foot” with her girlfriends and was known for her homemade turtle candy. She was an Army veteran who had been stationed in Germany. Patty was a dedicated mother who greatly enjoyed serving as a leader throughout her son Justin’s scouting years up through his Eagle Scout. She was proud of the man, husband and father that Justin had become. She adored Justin and his wife JoAnn and loved being a grandma. She worked at La Crosse Footwear and for the last 10 years as the respected and beloved office manager at Bertrang Financial Corp., Onalaska. She was a “worker bee”, a roll-up-her-sleeves-and-get-it-done kind of a gal. Patty had a true
passion for life and a sunny, positive spirit that warmed all who knew her.
We will miss you and love you always “P”,
Your sisters “T” and “C”.
She is survived by her husband, Randy; son, Justin (JoAnn) Adams of Onalaska;
mother, Bernadette Brodzik of Cudahy, Wis.; sisters, Therese (Corey) Holland of Cudahy,
Cynthia (Gregg) Sikora of Stoddard, Wis., grandchildren Dominic and McKenna Adams
and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in
death by her father, Walter Brodzik and brother-in-law, Terry Stetzer.
Thank you to family and friends who provided meals, said prayers, and provided love and support as well as Gundersen Health System staff.

Every memory I have of my Aunt Patty as we grew up is positive . she always had encouraging words for us and my heart is truely broken. I will love and miss her forever. My thoughts and prayers are for my entire family as we grieve the loss of a woman who was taken too soon, but she will undoubtably be one of the kindest angels in heaven. We are lucky to have her to look out for us.
Our prayers are with you all and may Patti be waiting for us in the kingdom of God with Jesus our savior.
So sorry to hear of your loss .
Randy and family, I only got to work with her once at the food pantry, but she was truly a caring hard working person. I could see the love for each other they shared.
Know I will be praying for you, and we shall all miss her. Sue Anne Ross
