Susan K. Smith, 64, of La Crosse, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born April 22, 1953, to Richard and Vera (Hanson) Nagle in La Crosse. She was part of the Aquinas High School graduating class of 1971 and enjoyed a variety of occupations throughout her years.

Sue’s diagnosis with AML prevented her from taking part in activities she loved, such as fishing, being a part of pool and dart leagues and the entertainment she gained from watching TV series.  As AML prevented her from physical activities she took advantage of valuable time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Michael, Jeffrey, and Matthew (Naomi) Bjergum; her brother, David (Brenda) Nagle; sister, Mary (Dick) Hagen; two nieces, Betsy (David) and Jennifer; six grandchildren, Jorga, Jeffrey, Colten, Rylan, Taelyn and Mikey; and one great-nephew, Ethan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and boyfriend Kurt Hendrickson.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday June 16th, at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.  Chaplain Jeff Thomson will officiate.
