David D. Church, 68 of Sparta found eternal rest on March 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born on Dec. 13, 1942 in Sparta, WI the son of Hugh and Emilia (Davenport) Church. He married Patricia R. Stanhope on June 23, 1962 and had three children; Todd (April) Church, Paul (Heather) Church, and Amy Church; they later divorced and he married Judith A. Marquardt on Oct 24, 1987 and gained four step children Dean (Donna) Marquardt, Gene (Tracy) Marquardt, Nancy (Dave) Eckelberg, Laurie Marquardt;

He is survived by his wife Judy, his three children and four step children as well as one brother, Jim (Patty) Church; five sisters, Francis Baird, Norma Church, Shirley (Lee) Stringer, Merlyne (Mac) McKenna, Linda (Dean) Arnold.

12 Grandchildren: Brandon and Cassie Mikkelson, Tyler Church, Deanna and Devin Marquardt, Emily and Trisha Marquardt, Sam and Jake Eckelberg, Nikita, Natasha, and Darrion Marquardt.

3 Great Grandchildren: Jada, Vivieanne, and Malichi Marquardt.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clarisse Wyatt, Marlene Church and Judith Heilman.

David was employed at Trane Company until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid fishermen and hunter; he always made the nine day gun deer season special for everyone who hunted with him. He hosted many good times for friends and family at his home and made many memorable trips to Las Vegas. David always liked to have fun and made sure others around him were having fun too.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday March 19 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, hosted at David and Judy’s home.  Coulee Region Cremation Group at www.couleecremation.com is assisting the family.
