June Harriet Klein
June H. Klein, 87, of La Crosse died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Onalaska Care Center.
She was born June 16, 1923 in La Crosse to Andrew C. and Mary (Mickschl) Keim. She married Richard M. Kabat in La Crosse on June 23, 1945. He was killed in a car accident on Sept. 29, 1950. She married Robert H. Klein in La Crosse on Jan. 24, 1964. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1998. She was a graduate of Central High School in La Crosse in 1941.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Lynne (Thomas) Peters of La Crosse, Debra Jean (Steve) Fuchs of Onalaska; 1 son, Michael Richard (Debra) Kabat of Onalaka; 7 grandchildren, Tony (Robin Hoff) Peters of La Crosse, Michelle Hammel of La Crosse, Angela (Steve) Haney of La Crescent, Jessica Schneider of Onalaska, Allison (Jeremy) Miller of Holmen, Mike (Katie Jo) Kabat of Eastman, WI, Holland Kabat of Onalaska; 9 great grandchildren, Jordan, Jalen, Jared Hammel of La Crosse, Taylor and Tanner Haney of La Crescent, Miah June and William Miller of Holmen, McKinley and Aurora Kabat of Eastman, WI.
She is further survived by 4 step children, Mary (Gary) Herstein of Nevada, MO, Steve (Jolayne) Klein of Greenfield, WI, Robert Klein of Dubuque, IA and William Klein of Madison, WI.
In addition to her 2 husbands, June was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, James Keim in 1955 and Robert Keim in 1997 and 1 sister Ferne Michel in 1945.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse. Pastor Laurie Weis will officiate with interment at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Coulee Region Cremation Group at www.couleecremation.com is assisting the family.
The family would like to express many many thanks to the Onalaska Care Center for the wonderful care the past 6. They are the best!
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Boy & Girls Club of La Crosse.
