Eileen Mae Howland
Eileen Mae Howland, 91 of La Crosse passed away June 18th at Gundersen Luthern Medical Center in La Crosse, Wi.
She was born Jan.5th, 1920 to Ebert and Edna Nelson in La Crosse. Eileen married William Howland on Jan. 29th, 1949. Together they shared a great life in the Airforce that she truly loved, traveling the country from coast to coast and beyond gave her great joy. Her favorite station was Bermuda were she bore her only begotten son. After their retirement from the service, they returned home to La Crosse. Her pride and joy was her grandson who she loved dearly. Always following his racing career was the highlight of her life. Eileen was a very strong and proud lady to the very end. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her son Jeff (Julie) Howland her grandson Cole Howland, and her brother Kenneth (Carmin) Nelson. She was preceded death by her parents and husband, and brothers Raymond, Stanley, Donald, and sisters Evelyn, Patricia and Shirley.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 2:00PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel, 1407 La Crosse St., La Crosse. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the cemetery chapel. The Rev. Scott Skogen will officiate with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center Hospice. Coulee Region Cremation Group at www.couleecremation.com is assisting the family.
