Maggie was also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Jamaica American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed organizing and attending community events in Jamaica, watching college football and basketball, playing bingo, and was a revered pinochle player. In 2012, she moved to Wisconsin to be close to her daughter, Rita, and spent her final years at the Marinuka Manor in Galesville, Wisconsin. From happy hours every Friday to theatre
outings, trips to the vineyard and local restaurants, Maggie enjoyed an active social life up until the very end. She will be remembered by those who knew her well as hard-working, tough, quick-witted and loving. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the devoted friends and family who visited her from near and far, and especially to the dedicated staff at Marinuka Manor who sincerely loved and cared for her every single day. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Markinuka Manor, 19475 Silver Creek Rd, Galesville, WI 54630. The Lumley kids have so many fun, fun memories of Maggie from our Jamaica days. Maggie was a real inspiration and did so many good things for the community. Rod and I were just talking about Maggie the other day. Am sure all the Jamaica crowd were waiting with open arms to welcome her home. Gods peace to you all. Becky Lumley Marten
