David Frederick Kempfer, 62, of Sparta, passed away peacefully by his family on Monday, November 21, 2011 in his home.

He was born on January 2, 1949 to Marion and Eleanor (Lewis) Kempfer. He married Jean Rasmussen on December 27, 1980 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta.

 

David enjoyed woodworking and scuba diving with Jean when they lived in Florida. He was a member and former President of the Sparta Lion’s Club. David was last employed at Natural Scentsations and the Sparta Pizza Hut.

 

David is survived by his wife; 3 sons; 1 daughter; 3 step-daughters; 1 step-son; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; 5 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.

 

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Gundersen Lutheran Hospice for all off their special care.

 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 N. Water St., Sparta. Pastor Jeffrey Miller will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
