Steve M. Thompson, 59, of La Crosse, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center surrounded by his wife and step-daughters.

He was born in La Crosse on April 10, 1952 to the late Jack and Mildred Thompson.

 

He is survived by his wife, Linda; step-daughters, Tina Dahlstrom of La Crosse and Tammy (Dan) Thompson of Holmen; grandchildren, Hannah and Adeline Dahlstrom and Nicholas Thompson; one sister Vickey (Darrell) Thompson of Marietta, GA.; two brothers, Denny (Cheri) Thompson of Burr Oak, and Chris (Janet) Thompson of Coloma; father-in-law, Leonard Geier of La Crosse, many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Thompson; sister, Kathleen Lucas; mother-in-law, Estella Geier.

 

Steve worked for ACE Hardware RSC on French Island for 20+ years. He was very proud of his many Driver Safety Awards.

 

Steve loved his step-daughters and grandchildren very much. He would do anything for you if he could. He was proud of his BBQ ribs and chicken wings.

 

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Fish’s Bar, 1452 Caledonia St., La Crosse. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
