Thorne “Doc” Kent Osley, 74, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

He was born on April 13, 1937 to Clarence and Mina (Olson) Osley. He married Betty Jean Niedfeldt on September 21, 1957 in Burr Oak, WI.

 

Doc was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and was a proud member of the Holmen American Legion Post 284.

 

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sister, Youlanda Craig; brother, Dale Osley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald, Edson, Gweneth, LaMoine, Larry and Delain; and an infant sister, Janelle.

 

Doc’s family would like to thank the nurses at Mayo Clinic Health System for their wonderful care.

 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse. The Rev. Laurie Weis will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
