Raymond “Ray” Donald Matesevac 67, of Carbon Hill, formerly of Joliet Illinois, passed away on the river on a fishing trip on June 4, 2012 in La Crosse Wisconsin.

He was born on May 8, 1945 to Edward and Edna (Worden) Matesevac. He married Tamara Ostrom on June 28, 2003 in the park in Carbon Hill.

Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and artifacts, but his greatest love was his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara; children, Jason (Laurie Jane) Matesevac, DeLanie Young; grandchildren, Jonathan Young, River Young, Samuel Young, Solace Matesevac, Leo Matesevac, Halie Foster, Kyle Foster, Nathan Foster, Lilly Watts; siblings, Robert (Loretta), Mary Jo (Tom) Kirk, James (Nancy), TerriLynn (Tim) Higgins; many other relatives and friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Jr., Thomas, and twins Patrick and Michael.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Croatian Cultural Club, 1503 Clement St., Joliet, IL. Please bring photos and stories to share.
