Joan G. Steinke
Joan G. Steinke, 75, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2012 in La Crosse, WI with her family by her side after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on April 5, 1937 to Frank and Lillian (Walsch) Lorenz. She married Alvin Steinke on March 3, 1962.
Joan enjoyed outdoor work, sports, cooking, visiting friends, and mostly spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Tammy (Kenny) Wolff, Carrie (Bernie Luedtke) Coppersmith, Kathy Steinke; grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha; great granddaughter, Madison; siblings, Jack (Ceil) Lorenz, Andrew Lorenz, Grace Lorenz; brother-in-law, Bill (Nancy) Steinke; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and 3 nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and Gundersen Lutheran Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, social workers, hospice, and many friends and neighbors.
Per Joan’s request, private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation for Lung Cancer Research, Paula’s Purse, or any charity of your choice.
