Obituary

Alfred Foster Mueller

December 25, 2010

Alfred Foster Mueller, 89, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 25, 2010.

He was born on March 17, 1921 to Erwin and Alene (Foster) Mueller. He married Lorraine M. Fema in 1942 and moved to Los Angeles, CA shortly after. He retired from TRW where he was employed as an experimental machinist for the Space Administration. He was very proud of making parts for the very first space satellite.

Alfred’s great grandfather was Emil Mueller who later married one of the Heileman daughters. He enjoyed reminiscing with his grandchildren about the history of the Heileman family. One of his favorite stories was when he was very young, his father (Erwin F. Mueller) would take his two sons (Alfred and Asa) to the brewery on Sunday mornings (instead of Church) where they would sit in the tasting room, sipping beer from miniature pewter mugs while conversing with the workers. He was a fan of Nascar, boxing, and later football, but his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Nancy (John) Randall; grandchildren, Jeremy J. (Karla) Randall, Dustin L. ( Rebecca) Randall; 4 great-grandchildren, Abigail Randall, Gavin Randall, Lee Randall, Evan Randall; sister -in-law, Joan Mueller; very special friends, Marge, Gary and Jane Gutknecht.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine M. Mueller; father, Erwin F. Mueller; mother, Alena Mueller; sister, Annestelle M. Porkorny; brother, Asa E. Mueller.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Franciscan Skemp Hospice, Dr. Jungck, and Bill and Diane Oertel.

Alfred’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Condolences
