Allen Wilbur Hoffman, 68, of Holmen, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2011 in his home. 

He was born on February 26, 1943 to Frank and Beatrice Hoffman.   He married Terrie Marcou on July 1, 1967 in Brownsville, MN.

Allen enjoyed bow hunting, ham radio, traveling, and especially trips to Alaska, pulling his rv.

Allen joined the United States Navy in 1961, was a Vietnam veteran, served on 5 different ships and was proud of his 21 years in the Navy.  He retired in September of 1981.  He worked in other jobs until he was 65.

Allen is survived by his wife, Terrie and her 5 younger sisters and 3 brothers; his father-in-law, Kenneth Marcou; 3 sisters-in-law, Jeanne, Susie, Angie; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Allen is further survived by his 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers in Colorado and Washington.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; father, Frank; brother, Robert; a special baby brother, Barry; 2 half sisters, Dorothy and Doris; and his mother-in-law, Helen Marcou.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Ohlrogge, Donna Kamann and all of the hospice nurses of Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse and the delivery men at Home Medical Equipment.    Their care and empathy was superb.
